This program is for anyone wanting to learn more about the impact of invasive species in their community or workplace. By taking these courses, participants will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to identify, report, and manage invasive species. 

These courses will be particularly useful for industry professionals and individuals working in environmental roles with strong technical backgrounds.  

The Invasive Species Training program is powered by the Invasive Species Centre. 

The Invasive Species Centre is a not-for-profit organization that connects stakeholders, knowledge and technology to prevent the introduction and spread of invasive species that harm Canada’s environment, economy and society.

The time commitment for each course can vary depending on the number of lessons, as each lesson can take about an hour to complete. Generally, an entire course can be completed in 6-8 hours.   

Participants must write a final exam and receive a grade of 70% or higher to receive a certificate of completion. Eligible forestry members can also receive continuing education credits through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) for their participation in our forestry-related courses. 

The Invasive Species Centre is working hard to develop and launch new courses each year. Expect 1 or 2 new additions annually!

Purchasing the organization membership allows access to all available courses, including those that may be added to the site during your membership duration, for five people.

All courses are available for one year (365 days) after purchase. 

You will receive an email ahead of the expiration date; however, please take note upon purchase and check the course overview page to keep track of when you will lose access.
